RATFEES a crumb the rat has already taken

It runs the wallets and takes the fee.

The rat goes down the chain wallet by wallet, looking for a fee somebody left lying out, and it is very good at telling which ones are not paying attention. It takes one crumb, carries it back to the hole, and everything that makes it home is split on the spot: half to everyone holding $RAT and the rest burns. Get noticed on the way out and the crumb is dropped where it stands.

The run

wallet 1 of 8

Hold RUN to move and let go to freeze. The wallet looks up on its own schedule: while the eye is green you can move as much as you like, when it turns yellow you have about a second, and if you are still moving when it goes red you get caught and drop whatever you are holding. Running also makes noise, and enough noise makes it look up early. Grab the crumb, carry it back to the hole, do it eight times.

How it works

four rules, none of them written down anywhere

There is no dashboard, no allowlist and nothing to sign. There is a rat and there is your kitchen.

01

It runs

It goes down the chain wallet by wallet on its own, reading who is trading and how carelessly. Busy wallets leave fees lying around like crumbs on a counter, and it can smell a busy wallet from several blocks away.

wallet after wallet · nobody points it anywhere
02

It takes a crumb

One crumb off one fee, in the same block, and then it leaves. It never cleans out a wallet and it never comes back to the same one twice in a night, which is exactly why nobody bothers doing anything about it.

small enough that arguing costs more
03

It gets seen

Wallets do look up, usually at the worst possible moment. Anything the rat is carrying when it gets spotted is dropped on the floor right there, and a dropped crumb is gone for everyone, including him.

caught = the crumb stays on the floor
04

It gets home

Everything that makes it back through the hole is split in the same block: half goes to everyone holding $RAT and the rest burns. Nothing to claim, nothing to stake, no forms — you either hold the thing or you are the kitchen.

half to holders · the rest burns

Where the crumbs go

decided the second he is through the hole

A crumb has three possible endings and the rat has an opinion about only one of them.

half
to the holders
everyone holding $RAT

Paid out of every crumb that makes it back through the hole, in the block it lands. You are not staking anything and there is nothing to claim — you are simply on the side of the wall the rat lives on.

the rest
burns
gone the same night

Bought back and sent to a dead address before the kitchen light even goes on. Every clean run makes the supply a little smaller and the rat a little more confident than it has any right to be.

dropped
crumbs
stay on the floor

Anything he is carrying when a wallet looks up hits the floor and stays there. Nobody picks it up, nobody gets it back, and he has never once gone back for one.
